The Falcons took a bit of a gamble when they turned down Kaleb McGary’s fifth-year option, and now, they may have to pay the price for it, according to PFF.

To be quite honest, I had no idea McGary was already 28, so the franchise tag could be in play for the Falcons. They have plenty of money to spend, so I don’t think it would be too much of an issue. Still, with a guy who hasn’t had much success before this season, there’s a risk in giving him a big extension. McGary may feel comfortable in this system and may want to remain here if the Falcons make him a good enough offer to keep him in town. The Falcons don’t have many big decisions to make with their own free agents, but surprisingly, McGary may end up being the biggest one. And PFF believes it could be an expensive decision.
