On Tuesday, Malachi Corley, the wide receiver from Western Kentucky, shared on his Instagram Story that he was currently in Pittsburgh. Given the unlikelihood of a mere leisure visit, it’s reasonable to infer that Corley was likely engaging in a Top 30 visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Corley presents an intriguing prospect whose draft potential is intricately linked with the system he’s drafted into and the specific role he’s assigned within an offense.

In a setup that prioritizes getting Corley the ball on the perimeter or swiftly, he demonstrates prowess as a dynamic run-after-the-catch threat. Noteworthy for his physicality in route running, Corley exhibits a relentless work ethic in gaining every yard.

Some analysts have drawn comparisons between Corley and Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers.

While Corley’s ceiling may parallel Samuel’s, there’s room for growth, particularly in expanding his route repertoire to become a versatile receiver suited for various offensive schemes. Nonetheless, shades of JuJu Smith-Schuster are discernible in Corley’s game, particularly in his physical style of play.

During the 2023 season at Western Kentucky, Corley ended up catching 79 passes for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers needing some help at the wide receiver position, Corley could make a lot of sense. If he’s available in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Steelers would be wise to take a chance on him.

Expect to see the Steelers add a wide receiver or two via either free agency or the NFL Draft. Getting weapons for either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields is a major priority for Pittsburgh.
