Police enter Bengals RB Joe Mixon's home after alleged shooting in neighborhood

Multiple police officers entered Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon's home late Monday night, hours after launching an investigation into an alleged shooting in the area, according to multiple reports.

Per FOX 19, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said officers headed to Mixon's neighborhood at around 8:30 p.m. ET after receiving a call of shots being fired. After eventually entering the 2021 Pro Bowler's home at approximately 1:30 a.m. ET, they left about two hours later and no arrests were made.

According to Mixon's sister, he wasn't involved in the alleged shooting.

Monday night's news is the latest in a string of concerning incidents surrounding Mixon.

Despite a standout college career at the University of Oklahoma, Mixon fell to the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft due in part to his misdemeanor assault charge in October 2014. During the incident, he punched a female student, causing broken bones in her face and requiring hospitalization and surgery.

Last month, there was an arrest warrant out for Mixon after he allegedly pointed a gun at woman. The following day, the warrant was dismissed.

The 26-year-old has led the Bengals in rushing in each of his first six seasons. Mixon finished the 2022 regular season with 210 carries for 814 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games, along with a career-high 60 receptions and 441 receiving yards on 75 targets with two scores through the air.
