Minnesota Vikings QB Joshua Dobbs prepares to launch a pass against the New Orleans Saints Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Post-waiver wire fantasy football pickups for Week 11

What can Noah Brown do for you? Not much if somebody beat you to the waiver wire. Fortunately, we know a guy (or two) you can still have for Week 11.

QB: Joshua Dobbs ( Minnesota Vikings)

Call “dibs” on Dobbs before somebody else does. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that Dobbs has something special going this year. Over the past three weeks, the former Tennessee quarterback is averaging 24.98 fantasy points per game with 536 total yards and five scores since arriving in Minnesota.

Dobbs currently has the seventh-most fantasy points among quarterbacks and in Week 11 will face a Denver Broncos defense giving up 18.82 points per game to the position. More importantly, All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson comes off the IR in two weeks. If he’s healthy enough to play, a Jefferson-Dobbs combo could have enough juice to win your league.

RB: Rico Dowdle (Dallas Cowboys)

Yards are yards, even in garbage time. Dowdle had the backfield to himself in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 49-17 win over the New York Giants. With Tony Pollard’s early exit, Dowdle saw a career-high 12 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown.

This Sunday, the fourth-year running back could be busy against a one-win Carolina Panthers team giving up 29.62 fantasy points to running backs, second-most in the league.

WR: Brandin Cooks (Dallas Cowboys)

The Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks finished Week 10 with the second- and third-most fantasy points among wide receivers. You’re not getting Lamb, but thanks to a slow start to 2023, Cooks remains widely available.

The 10-year veteran had nine catches for 173 yards and a score against the Giants and with three touchdowns in his last four games, Cooks could be getting hot at just the right time. The Panthers defense is fairly stingy when it comes to wide receivers, but getting a piece of the NFL’s fourth-ranked offense this late in the season could be quite a steal.

TE: Tyler Conklin (New York Jets)

Conklin is coming off his best two games of the season with six catches for 66 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9 and seven catches for 70 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets listed wide receiver Garrett Wilson as “limited” on Wednesday’s injury report. Should Wilson miss time, Conklin’s stock will only rise higher.

D/ST: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars were terrible against the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday, but before Christian McCaffrey and co. came to town, Jacksonville’s defense averaged 10.6 fantasy points over their previous three games. Aside from an aging Derrick Henry, the Tennessee Titans don’t have the firepower of San Francisco, making the Jags a safe play in Week 11.

K: Greg Zuerlein (New York Jets)

The 12-year veteran has been a scoring machine for the Jets lately. Over the past two weeks, Zuerlein has accounted for every one of New York’s points. He made all four of his kicks in a 16-12 loss to the Raiders on Sunday, good enough for 16 fantasy points.

Zuerlein’s 10 fantasy points per game is third-most among kickers and he should be very busy on the road against an angry Buffalo Bills team.
