The price tag for each first-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft has been set and for Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn, the figure is $12,472,000.

The amount is determined based on which of the four tiers a player falls in - multiple Pro Bowls, one Pro Bowl, playing time, and basic.

With Horn failing to reach a Pro Bowl through his first three years in the league and not exceeding 75 percent or greater snaps in two of his first three seasons, an average of 75 percent or greater over all three seasons OR 50 percent or greater over all three seasons... he falls in the basic category.

"Players who do not meet any of the requirements above (for Pro Bowls & playing time) will have their fifth-year base salary calculated from the average of the third- to 25th-highest salaries at their position during the last five seasons," per the 33rd Team. "Prior to the new CBA, players drafted in the top 10 had their value set at the transition tag amount for their position. Picks 11-32 got a value equal to an average of the third- to 25th-highest salaries for their position. That said, here’s a look at the official fifth-year option amounts for players selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft."

Despite the injury history, Horn is someone the front office will more than likely take a chance on. When he's on the field, he's one of the better lockdown corners in the league.
