Second-year Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker continues to be one of the few bright spots of the team's 2023 NFL season.
Although LA is merely 5-11 and has no chance at the postseason, Dicker is one of the few Bolts being pushed for a Pro Bowl accolade.
He's building on his own internal records with the franchise already, writes Eric Smith of Chargers.com.
During the Bolts' 16-9 loss to the Denver Broncos, Dicker scored two additional 50-plus yard kicks, further extending his own prior team record of four that he had set just last week, in LA's 24-22 last-minute defeat against the Buffalo Bills.
"I really just think it's his mindset and his approach each and every day," long snapper Josh Harris reflected, per Smith. "Practice, games, doesn't matter. Very resilient, whatever happens from one rep to the next he does a really good job just flushing it and getting to the next play."
"That's really important in any phase, offense, defense or special teams," Harris added. "Especially in the kicking game, you get that one play and then you got to get back to the sideline and wait for your next opportunity."
Dicker has gone 27-of-29 on his field goal kicks (93.1%) thus far this year, for a total of 116 points. He had a third 50+ yard field goal try blocked on Sunday against Denver. The 6'1", 216-pound Texas product has made every field goal kick within the 50-yard mark this season.
"He does a really great job of, 'Hey, that happened, onto the next one,'" Harris said. "Then go out there and he attacks each and every one of them. He's done an incredible job and he's earned every bit of that, just the work he puts in."
