Pro Football Hall of Famer's son signs with CFL team

The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss is headed to the Canadian Football League.

The official X account of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Monday the franchise had signed former LSU and NFL tight end Thaddeus Moss. The news was first reported on Feb. 22 at 3downation.com

Thaddeus Moss went undrafted in 2020 and spent two seasons in the NFL with the Washington Commanders and Cincinnati Bengals, who released him in 2022. He spent 2023 with the Birmingham Stallions in the United States Football League, winning a USFL championship.

When the USFL and XFL combined to become eight teams in the United Football League, Moss wasn't taken in the UFL dispersal draft in Jan. 2024.

Thaddeus Moss hinted at a possible move north on the day before his signing with Hamilton was reported.

"Wonder what football is like in Canada," Moss posted on his X account on Feb. 21

Thaddeus Moss is most known for his time playing on LSU's 2019 CFP national championship team and catching passes from Heisman Trophy winner and current Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. In 2019, he had 47 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns, including two touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Clemson in the 2020 CFP National Championship.

Randy Moss played 14 seasons in the NFL from 1998 to 2012 and his 15,292 receiving yards are No. 4 on the NFL career receiving leaders list. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2018.
