Quinnen Williams is really good at football, especially when it comes to harassing the passer.

The New York Jets' defensive centerpiece earned high marks from NFL Next Gen Stats's new Pressure Probability Model.

Coming off an All-Pro 2022 season, Williams posted a 94 score to rank first amongst all interior linemen. The fifth-year defensive tackle claimed the No. 6 overall ranking, one spot behind Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson.

Dallas Cowboys' game-wrecker Micah Parsons, who logged four QB hits and 2.0 sacks against the Jets in Week 2, took the No. 1 spot in the rankings with a 99 Pass Rush Score.

Thus far this season, Williams has 11 tackles, six pressures and one quarterback hit. Not to mention, the attention that the defensive tackle commands on the interior opens up opportunities for the Jets' edge rushers. In 2022, he led the team with a career-high 12.5 sacks and 28 QB hits.

Gang Green rewarded Williams with a new contract this summer, inking the former No. 3 overall draft pick to a four-year deal worth $96 million (including $66 million in guaranteed money).

PASS RUSH SCORE: 94

As seen in Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets, Robert Saleh was a big advocate for Quinnen Williams to get paid this offseason. Williams earned that four-year, $96M extension with his disruptive play since entering the league in 2019, amassing the sixth-most quick pressures among defensive tackles. Last season alone, Williams’ 58.4 percent positive pass rush rate was fourth among defensive tackles with a minimum of 250 pass rush snaps.

And if you’re wondering if the new contract has paid off yet, Williams already has six pressures through two games this season, three of which came in under 2.5 seconds. Consistent disruption up front is crucial for the Jets as they look to win games on defense in the aftermath of Aaron Rodgers’ season-ending Achilles injury.
