The Las Vegas Raiders just gave one of their veteran players a lump of coal for Christmas, based on some of the latest news we are getting.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Raiders are letting go of veteran edge rusher Malik Reed, who was on the practice squad.

This has to be terrible news for any player this close to the holidays. However, there is a chance he will be back, as he has already been on the Raiders practice squad more than once this season.

Reed has 16 career sacks, and the Raiders like the potential he brings when it comes to rushing the passer. If he doesn't come back to the Raiders practice squad, he will surely find a new home very soon.
