Oakland Raiders rookie defensive end Maxx Crosby was heavily featured on the latest episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” thanks in part to his decision to play with a club cast on his hand after breaking it during the team’s Week 2 preseason game.

On Sunday, defensive coordinator Paul Guenther was asked what it says about Crosby that he came back after breaking his hand.

His response was awesome:

Crosby injured his hand trying to punch the ball out of a running back’s hands as he tackled him. He then told team doctors his hand went “noodle” and shortly afterward was informed it was broken.

After hearing he would still be able to play if he got a cast, Crosby ran into the locker room, then ran back out onto the field after getting his injury tended to.

He then made more plays in what turned out to be a darn impressive overall outing for the fourth-round pick out of Eastern Michigan. It sure looks like Crosby will not only make the team, but as a shot to be a major player for the Raiders in 2019.
