Raiders DE Chandler Jones says he was hospitalized against his will

Perhaps no one in the NFL has had a more eventful last few weeks than Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones.

The 33-year-old was placed on the non-football illness list by the team last week for a “personal matter,” and on Monday night, he revealed through a social media post on X that he had been hospitalized against his will by the Las Vegas Fire Department.

“I answered my front door and a group of 5 to 7 were there to put me in an ambulance where I was later injected and I asked them not to,” Chandler wrote. “I had no cell phone or no communication. I was taken to a Southern Hills hospital and they transferred me to Seven Hills (Behavioral Health Hospital) where they tried to force me to take meds and injections.”

Per ESPN, Las Vegas F.D. stated it couldn’t comment on Jones’ situation, citing HIPPA privacy regulations.

He explained that the injection in the ambulance was due to a court hold via Las Vegas P.D., who told the four-time Pro Bowler people were concerned for him because of previous social media posts. Among the posts, he said he no longer wanted to play for the Raiders, who wouldn’t let him in the building anymore.

In his post, Jones disclosed that he called Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler “six to seven times” but never heard back from him. He even questioned if Ziegler was the one who had him brought to the facility, which according to him had poor eating and sleeping conditions.

Jones is in the second season of a three-year, $51 million contract. According to him, he will be fined $1 million for very game that he misses.
