Raiders' Denzelle Good done for season due to torn ACL

The Las Vegas Raiders opened their season and closed the campaign's first week of meaningful action with a thrilling overtime "Monday Night Football" victory over the Baltimore Ravens but lost a key contributor in the process.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (h/t Paul Gutierrez) reported Tuesday afternoon that right guard Denzelle Good will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on Monday night.

Head coach Jon Gruden said earlier in the day that backup quarterback Marcus Mariota, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue could also be dealing with long-term injury setbacks.

Good played well enough with the Raiders in 2020 to earn a two-year contract worth $8.4 million with $3.2 million guaranteed this past March. According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, quarterback Derek Carr called Good "the team MVP" last November, while Gruden said Good "might be the unsung hero of our team" at that time.

Jermaine Eluemunor, who only joined the Raiders earlier this month after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, replaced Good in Monday's contest.

The Raiders travel east to face the Pittsburgh Steelers this coming Sunday. Pittsburgh defeated the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday.
