Raiders' Maxx Crosby makes surprising Super Bowl LVIII pick

As the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face off in Super Bowl LVIII, everyone has been sharing their predictions and hopes of how the game will play out.

Raiders DE Maxx Crosby joined the conversation, revealing who he wants to win, and it's surprising.

"Selfishly, I want the Chiefs to win so we can be the ones to take them down and take them off the pedestal," Crosby said via NFL Network.

Although Crosby's reasoning behind wanting Kansas City to win is completely based on revenge, it still doesn't make sense why he wants to watch his AFC West division rival hoist its third Vince Lombardi Trophy in five years.

For the most part, the Chiefs have taken care of business against Las Vegas as of late. Since QB Patrick Mahomes was drafted in 2017, he has won 10 of the 12 meetings between the two teams.

Crosby has been a problem for Kansas City, totaling 33 tackles and five sacks in 10 games, and helped the Raiders defeat the Chiefs in Week 16 this season.

But it will be Kansas City having the last laugh if they win yet another Super Bowl on Sunday. Crosby's strong dislike of them is only out of respect, however.

"I've got the ultimate respect for Mahomes and Chris Jones and all those guys," Crosby added. "But they're the ones standing in our way. So, we're looking forward to seeing them again next season."

One of the biggest reasons for Las Vegas' success to finish the year and confidence for next season is head coach Antonio Pierce.

Pierce was named the team's full-time head coach after leading the Raiders to a 5-4 record down the stretch as the interim HC. Crosby publicly supported Pierce and even threatened to request to be traded if the Raiders didn't hire him.

Crosby and his team are going to have to back up their words if the Chiefs do win on Sunday. But that will only have fans more excited for what the 2024 season will bring.
