This week’s episode of The Only Nation Podcast finds us covering some Las Vegas Raiders news and then catching up with the team’s ball carriers in the running back room.

We start off with a quick look at the weekly team news and then examine the running backs. The Raiders recently signed cornerback De’Vante Bausby and former 20th overall draft pick, linebacker Darron Lee. In a corresponding move, cornerback TJ Morrison was released.

Next up, we talk about rookie cornerback Nate Hobbs and the impression he’s leaving on the coaches this pre-season. Afterward, we look at defensive coordinator Gus Bradley’s approach to pass rushers. We note that newly signed Yannick Ngakoue will be the key to this part of the defense.

Any changes coming for Jacobs and the Raiders?

Then we approach the running back room. First, we take a look at starter Josh Jacobs and the changes that will be coming up for him this season. Next, we consider newcomer Kenyan Drake and how he will impact Jacobs. Finally, we wrap up our visit to the room by discussing Jalen Richard, Theo Riddick, Garrett Groshek, and Trey Ragas.

After the running back room is examined, we discuss Divine Deablo not signing his rookie contract yet. We then take another look at Damon Arnette and his lack of impact this pre-season. Finally, the linebackers are up on our discussion list and we wonder if there’s concern about that position among the coaches.

To begin wrapping up the episode, Homer and Heidi take their weekly Raiders quiz and avoid another losing streak. To end the show, we then honor a hero who makes an impact in his community one lawn at a time.
