Raiders season-ticket holders receive commemorative boxes
Although Las Vegas Raiders fans won't be able to attend any home games this season at Allegiant Stadium, the team still is delivering some pretty special boxes.
Raiders season-ticket holders have begun to receive boxes containing their tickets for the 2020 campaign, and the box is phenomenally done.
The box's exterior features the state of Nevada with the Raiders logo and "Inaugural Season Las Vegas 2020" printed on the top. The inside features a replica of Allegiant Stadium, which lights up upon opening. It also plays the Raiders' theme song, "The Autumn Wind," upon opening as well.
Allegiant Stadium will feature 65,000 seats with the option to expand to 72,000 for events like the Super Bowl and concerts. The turf field is retractable, and massive lanai doors can be opened to reveal an 85-foot Al Davis memorial torch.
The Raiders previously played at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in a shared field with the Athletics, and there were many reasons for their move to Las Vegas. The organization wanted a new stadium as the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum was consistently rated one of the worst in the NFL, but the city failed to propose an adequate stadium solution.
Las Vegas will play its first home game during Week 2 on Sept. 21 against the New Orleans Saints after traveling to face the Carolina Panthers during Week 1.
