Las Vegas have signed 3-time Pro Bowler, Andrus Peat from free agency according to Ian Rapoport. Peat has had successful seasons for the New Orleans Saints where he was drafted in 2015 as the 13th overall pick.

The 6-7 Stanford alum has been a consistent starter for the Saints at both left tackle and left guard in his tenure. Last season he played in 16 games for the club at both positions.

In 2023, Peat was responsible for six penalties that affected the Saints and allowed two sacks. He also received a 60.0 grade according to PFF.

His most successful seasons came on a three-year run from 2018 to 2020 where he received a Pro Bowl honor in each season. Peat was released from New Orleans after signing a deal in 2020 before his contract was completed.

Projected Role

The contract details for Peat on the Raiders are still pending until after he is able to pass a physical with the team. Peat joins a young offensive line room with another Pro Bowler in Kolton Miller.

Being that Peat has predominantly been played on the left side of the offensive line, it is unclear where he will fit into the starting lineup. The Raiders have addressed the offensive line multiple times in the offseason both in the draft and free agency.

In the draft, Raiders invested in Jackson Powers-Johnson along with Delmar Glaze. They have also signed another seasoned veteran in Cody Whitehair.

Offensive line seems to be a priority for head coach, Antonio Pierce and general manager, Tom Telesco. Peat will be protecting either Aidan O’Connell or Gardner Minshew this upcoming season.
