Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Malik Reed is headed to Las Vegas, signing him from their practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of Week 9.

Reed, 27, spent the 2022 season with the Steelers. The outside linebacker played 14 games, including two starts and recorded 25 tackles and a sack for Pittsburgh. During T.J. Watt's absence, Reed and Jamir Jones worked to reduce the loss opposite of Alex Highsmith

Reed will be on an active roster for his fifth season in a row since joining the league in 2019. He started his career with the Denver Broncos, playing 45 games, including 34 starts. He's recorded 16 career sacks, with his best season coming in 2020 with an eight-sack campaign.

Reed is listed behind Malcolm Koonce on the Raiders' depth chart. He has yet to be activated for a game this season.
