The Las Vegas Raiders' running back room is one of their deepest rooms on the team.

The club grew that position group last month when they signed running back Tyreik McAllister to a reserve/future contract.

McAllister had previously been with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the 2023 CFL season. He played 16 games for Hamilton, totaling 52 rushing yards, 364 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, 1,037 kick return yards on 41 returns, 603 punt return yards, 403 yards and one touchdown returned off missed field goals. He led the league in kick return average (25.3 yards) and all-purpose yards.

Prior to the CFL, McAllister had been a member of the Denver Broncos, who released him last May. Denver had originally signed McAllister to its practice squad in November 2022.

McAllister played college ball at the University of Charleston for five seasons. He recorded 2,576 rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns in 23 games.

In his final season with Charleston, McAllister registered 1,090 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. He would be named the 2021 MEC Offensive Player of the Year and received All-MEC First Team honors.

McAllister had also made the All-MEC First Team back in 2019, a season in which he totaled a career-best 1,199 rushing yards while scoring 11 rushing touchdowns. He did so in just 10 games.

There is not a whole lot of room for McAllister in Las Vegas' running back room, but that could change depending on the free agency of Josh Jacobs and Ameer Abdullah. Realistically, though, it would be a surprise if McAllister finds himself on the 53-man roster.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
