Cooper Kupp and the Los Angeles Rams missed a chance to jump back over the .500 mark in Week 7, falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 19-16 on Sunday afternoon.

After the loss, Kupp expressed his frustrations regarding the club’s work during the week not translating into on-field success on gameday.

“Part of why it’s so frustrating is because there’s no lack of effort at work during the week,” said Kupp, according to Bridget Condon of NFL Network. “You just work so hard to try to put yourself in a position to go out there and make plays. I’m not talking about myself, just the guys on this team guys work extremely hard to come out here and compete, and to just not see that carry through, it’s tough.”

Kupp had an unusually quiet outing against the Steelers, logging just two catches for 29 yards.

The 30-year-old began the season on the PUP list while recovering from a hamstring injury. He returned in Week 5 and put forth tremendous efforts over his first couple of contests of 2023, totaling 15 catches for 266 yards in his first two games. However, Pittsburgh shut him down this past weekend.

Kupp, who played his collegiate football at Eastern Washington, was selected by Los Angeles in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

After a couple of solid campaigns to begin his career, Kupp broke out in his third year, catching 94 passes for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns. Then, two years later, the Yakima, Wa. native enjoyed a historic season, leading the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16). He finished just shy of breaking Calvin Johnson’s single-season record for receiving yards.

Since then, Cooper Kupp has been hindered by injuries, as he played in just nine games last season before missing the first four weeks of 2023.

The Rams are 3-4 and will take on the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.
