The Los Angeles Rams need a new offensive coordinator, and they could look to the college ranks to fill the position.
Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen is considered a favorite to take over the offensive coordinator role, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Coen served on the Rams’ staff under coach Sean McVay from 2018 to 2020.
Coen, 36, would certainly be an off-the-radar candidate, but he does come from the McVay coaching tree. That tree has produced multiple head coaches, usually on the offensive side of the ball. In fact, he went straight to Kentucky as offensive coordinator after serving as the Rams’ assistant quarterbacks coach.
No matter who takes over the Rams’ offense, they’ll have a very talented group at their disposal. That group also looks pretty self-motivated, so the job will be very attractive.
