Rams HC Sean McVay jokes about getting Tom Brady 'the hell out of this league'

The reality of the situation is that Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay shouldn't have much to complain about these days. His side defeated Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the playoffs en route to winning Super Bowl LVI, and he confirmed at the league's annual meetings on Tuesday that All-Pro defensive tackle and three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald is returning to the team for at least the 2022 season.

Like other coaches and executives around the league, McVay probably felt some sense of relief when Brady announced his retirement before the Super Bowl but was then left shaking his head when the G.O.A.T. took to social media on March 13 to say he was returning as Buccaneers QB1 to pursue an eighth championship ring.

Per Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire/USA Today, McVay was able to joke about the 44-year-old signal-caller while speaking with media members on Tuesday.

"I was saying, 'S---, man. Can we get this guy the hell out of this league?'" McVay said about learning Brady had ended his retirement before the start of the new league year earlier this month.

Interestingly, DaSilva notes the Rams beat the Buccaneers during the 2020 regular season, did so again this past September and then made it a perfect 3-0 via the January postseason victory. Perhaps that explains why Brady allegedly didn't push for a move to the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles' division rival, this winter.
