Rams HC Sean McVay on Aaron Donald: 'Things are trending in the right direction'

Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald has created a buzz again this week with his recent comments regarding the possibility of an early retirement. While head coach Sean McVay didn't have much of an update on the matter, he did address the topic on Wednesday.

The 2017 AP Coach of the Year added that regardless of if/when Donald and the team agree on a new deal, he'll be seeing plenty of the defensive tackle this weekend at his wedding.

Donald is coming off of a 2021 campaign in which he put up a career-high 84 tackles, to go along with 25 quarterback hits, 12.5 sacks, four passes defended and four forced fumbles. The three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year won his first career Super Bowl in February, as the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20.

The 31-year-old has only missed two games during his career (both in 2017) and is fourth among all active players in tackles for loss with 150.
