Rams' Michael Brockers: Matthew Stafford is a 'level up' over Jared Goff

The Los Angeles Rams are excited about the addition of former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford this offseason.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers even went as far as to say that Stafford will bring more talent to the table than former franchise QB Jared Goff.

“Is it a level up?” Brockers said when asked if Stafford is an upgrade over Goff. “In my heart, deeply, just understanding what [Stafford] brings, it’s a level up [over Goff]. It’s a level up.”

Stafford spent 12 seasons with the Lions, recording several franchise records and earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2014. After years of minimal team success, the veteran requested a trade out of Detroit, and several teams around the NFL showed interest.

The Lions ultimately decided to send Stafford to the Rams in exchange for Goff, 2022 and 2023 first-round draft picks and a 2021 third-round selection.

There's no telling how far Stafford will lead the Rams in 2021, but the team appears to be pretty confident that he'll be able to lead them back to a Super Bowl during his tenure with the franchise.
