Rams place rookie safety Jordan Fuller on injured reserve

The Los Angeles Rams placed rookie safety Jordan Fuller on injured reserve on Tuesday because of a shoulder injury.

Los Angeles acquired Fuller in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and the 22-year-old started the first three games of the season before the shoulder issue sidelined him for the Week 4 win over the New York Giants. Fuller then reinjured the shoulder in last Sunday's 30-10 victory over the Washington Football Team.

"It's his right side," Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters, per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN. "He had a little stinger. It's more of his neck, kind of, just having a stinger, but it is on the right side."

Fuller tallied 21 tackles and a pair of passes defended across his four games. Due to a rule for the season held amid the coronavirus pandemic, any player on IR must miss a minimum of three contests. Fuller will next be eligible to play when the Rams face the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 15.

Thiry added that second-year safety Taylor Rapp, who has 24 tackles and one pass defended this year, is expected to move up the depth chart and start during Fuller's absences.

The Rams also announced the signing of defensive back Juju Hughes from the practice squad to the main roster. Hughes notched a tackle in the win over the Giants.

Los Angeles added defensive lineman Eric Banks to the practice squad after waiving him last weekend.
