The NFL Draft Combine is in full swing, and Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Cooper Kupp does not think that it should have implications on a player's career.

In a post on X that Kupp made on Saturday, he says, "No matter your numbers in Indy, don't let them define your journey." This comes after Rams head coach Sean McVay was very public about not going to the Combine held in Indianapolis.

As for Kupp, he did not have the most impressive Combine himself. He came from Eastern Washington University and was regarded as a guy that would "eventually be a starter." So Kupp knows a thing or two about defying expectations.

It took Kupp a while to get going, but once he did, he took the league by storm. He had his first 1000 yard season in his third year in 2019, and then won the triple corn and finished with just under 2000 yards in 2021.

That is the exact reason why McVay has not been at the Combine since 2020, as he wants to look at film of players playing in a real game instead of running "track and field", as the head coach called it in a recent interview.

There are lots of guys who performed in the NFL after not impressing at the Combine, and Kupp wants to motivate the current upcoming rookies to not worry if they don't perform their best in Indianapolis.
