Van Jefferson’s “Super Bowl baby” is getting an especially perfect name.

The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Jefferson guested this week on ESPN’s “The Adam Schefter Podcast,” and revealed the name of his newborn son, who was born on the night that the Rams won Super Bowl LVI.

“Champ,” Jefferson said. “I think it’s very fitting to name him Champ. We looked it up and Champ is like a warrior.

“My wife is a warrior like [what] she did throughout [the] whole week of [the] Super Bowl, the week of [the] Super Bowl being so crazy,” Jefferson added. “He’s a champ, and she’s a warrior. So Champ Curtis Jefferson.”

Jefferson caught four passes for 23 yards in the Rams’ Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals and then got the news that his wife was in labor. You can see the awesome video of the moment that Jefferson found out here.

Other than being a cool nod to the Rams’ Super Bowl victory on the day the baby was born, the name Champ is fitting if Jefferson is eyeing a future in football for his son too. Fans likely still remember this famous NFL Champ.
