Rams WR Puka Nacua says teammate is preparing for 'revenge tour' in 2024

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, a fifth-round pick a year ago, was one of the most unexpected stories of the 2023 season. He was able to set NFL records for receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) in a rookie season.

Part of the reason for Nacua's breakout season was the absence of his teammate, wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who he believes is in store for a big bounce back year.

"I've been training with Coop so it's been good. He's on a revenge tour," Nacua said on "The Rush with Maxx Crosby" podcast. "He's been able to get a healthy offseason and stuff so he's back at it."

Kupp's last couple of seasons have not been ideal, especially after setting the NFL record for most yards from scrimmage (1,965) by a wide receiver in 2021.

During the 2022 season, Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain that required surgery and ended his season.

Then in 2023, he was placed on injured reserve to begin the season due to a lingering hamstring injury. After his return, Kupp was able to remain healthy over the last few months.

That's exactly why Nacua thinks Kupp will return to the level he was playing at when he was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.

Nacua's emergence last year may prevent Kupp from putting up numbers similar to the ones he had a few seasons ago, but the idea of Los Angeles having both of its wideouts at full health should be a cause of fear for the other 31 teams in the league.

The Rams will look a little different in 2024, especially after the retirement of three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald, but that's why having one of their long-time veterans in Kupp return fully healthy is even more important.
