Ravens CB Marcus Peters 'in the right place' during torn ACL recovery

The plague of injuries that impacted the Baltimore Ravens throughout the 2021 NFL season began before Baltimore took a meaningful snap in Week 1. Remarkably, running back Gus Edwards and two-time First-Team All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters went down with ACL tears on back-to-back practice plays in September and ahead of the campaign's start.

General manager Eric DeCosta vowed in February that Peters would return to the active roster and not become a salary-cap casualty before the new league year kicked off in March, and the 29-year-old remains associated with the franchise. Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Peters explained on Thursday he's recovering well from the setback that cost him all of last season.

"I’m in the right place, going in the right direction with my leg," Peters noted.

Peters would not, however, say when he thinks he'll be back on the field or in the starting lineup.

"When Marcus is ready to be on the field playing ball, I’m going to be," he added.

Peters logged 14 starts for the Ravens in 2020 and recorded 52 total tackles, four interceptions, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and nine pass breakups. He contract will expire after the upcoming season.
