From Ray Lewis to Terrell Suggs, the Baltimore Ravens have always been known for their elite defenders that were capable of getting after the quarterback. Looking to add his name to that storied list is Odafe Oweh.

Helping him get there will be outside linebacker coach Chuck Smith, who the Ravens hired this offseason. Well-known for teaching some of the NFL's premier pass rushers, including Von Miller and Aaron Donald, Smith is confident that people will know Oweh after this season.

“After this year, when you see Odafe (Oweh), you’re going to know his signature pass rush move,” Smith said.

However, not only will Smith help Oweh improve as a pass rusher but he spoke about how he will impact other potential key defenders along the Ravens defensive front.

“But it’s not just Odafe,” Smith said. “It’s [David] Ojabo. It’s Jeremiah Moon. It’s Tavius Robinson. All these guys are working for a common cause and ultimately to be the best team defense we can be, but the big prize is to try and win a Super Bowl.”

“But the beauty of this whole thing is every one of those guys were taught,” Smith said. “So, we’re teaching them to do high performance moves but most importantly how to fix them when flaws come about and that’s where I come in at.”

The potential is undeniably there for Oweh and the rest of the pass rushers currently on the Ravens roster. Now, under Smith, they have an opportunity to not only live up to said potential, but blow past expectations this season.
