The Baltimore Ravens could be interested in adding depth at the wideout position, or even a bonafide No. 2 to play opposite Zay Flowers.

On Friday, the Dallas Cowboys released six-year veteran Michael Gallup in a cap-saving move. Prior to his release, Dallas gave Gallup's agent permission to seek a trade, but no team would take on his current $13 million APY deal.

The 28-year-old will be designated as a post-June 1 cut.

Gallup's breakout year came in his second season of 2019, with 66 catches for 1,107 yards. But the Colorado State product tore his ACL in 2021. Coming off of the injury, Dallas gave him a five-year, $57.5 million contract - a move that did not work out.

Gallup experienced career lows last season with just 418 yards and two touchdowns while posting the second-fewest catches with 34. But in Dallas' only postseason game last year, Gallup rebounded posting six catches on six targets for 103 yards. That could be enough for the Ravens (or any other team) to consider his decline as part of being underutilized by the Cowboys' offense.

The Ravens have cut Odell Beckham Jr. and will be looking to add another wideout. Will it be through the draft or free agency? Only general manager Eric DeCosta knows, but the list of free-agent receivers is dwindling.

Rashod Bateman is expected to have an increased role in 2024, and quarterback Lamar Jackson could use all the weapons in the passing game the Ravens can muster.

With the signing of free agent running back Derrick Henry this week, Baltimore's running game should complement Jackson's passing game and open up opportunities to whoever is running routes in offensive coordinator Todd Monken's second-year offense.
