Ravens hiring Rob Ryan as inside linebackers coach

Rob Ryan is returning to the NFL in a position he knows all too well.

According to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec, the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Ryan as an inside linebackers coach, which is the same position he held with the Washington Football Team in 2019.

Ravens defensive coordinator Don Martindale is very close to Ryan, according to Zrebiec. The two worked together from 2004-08 when Ryan was Raiders defensive coordinator and Martindale was the linebackers coach.

Ryan has held various roles in the NFL over the years. He had stints with the Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills and Washington.

Before joining the NFL, Ryan coached at Western Kentucky, Ohio State and Tennessee State.

He won two Super Bowls with the Patriots.
