Ravens' John Harbaugh: Fourth-down decision was a no-brainer

The Baltimore Ravens capped off their dramatic 36-35 comeback victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with a fourth-down conversion that kept Patrick Mahomes from getting the ball back.

The decision to convert on the 4th-and-1 was a risky one, but according to head coach John Harbaugh, it was a no-brainer.

"There wasn't (any doubt)," Harbaugh said postgame via CBS Sports, indicating he was pretty sure Andy Reid and the Chiefs would have done the same thing. "I bet they're going for it, too, with Patrick Mahomes. How about that?"

Lamar Jackson agreed with his coach, saying he was already prepared for the play before Harbaugh even asked. 

"In my mind, I was like, 'Damn, we should go for it, because we're close,'" Jackson said. "But then when I was going to the sideline, Coach was like, 'Do you want to go for it?' I was like, 'Hell yeah! No doubt.'"

It was a big night in general for Jackson, who got his first career win over the Chiefs and set a couple new records in the process.

"I'm happy for him," Harbaugh said. "We want to win every single game. So, whatever it means, it means. It means something different to all of us."

Harbaugh did add, however, that the focus now needs to turn to next week's game against the Lions. Baltimore will get a full week of practice in after playing Week 2 on shortened rest, giving the Ravens ample time to prep for a Detroit team that is playing this Monday night in Green Bay. 

For the Ravens' sake, they can head into Week 3 a little more confident, especially after that late-game conversion put them in the win column for the first time this season.
