Ravens keep veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell on two-year, $12.5M deal

Six-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Calais Campbell is staying with the Baltimore Ravens on a two-year deal, the team announced Saturday morning.

Campbell, 35, was acquired by the Ravens in a March 2020 trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars and earned Pro Bowl honors in his first season with the team. His new contract is worth $12.5 million over the next two seasons, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, and it includes incentives that could make the deal worth as much as $16.5 million.

In 2019, Campbell was named the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year winner for his work with young people.

Campbell was a second-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Arizona Cardinals. He joined Jacksonville as a free agent in 2017 and was immediately a cornerstone for a Jaguars defense that led the way during a run to the AFC Championship.

In 14 NFL seasons, Campbell has 93.5 sacks and 161 tackles for loss. His 1.5 sacks during the 2021 season were his lowest total since his rookie year with the Cardinals.
