Ravens' Lamar Jackson crushes all-time rushing record

The Baltimore Ravens (9-3) are one of the hottest teams in the league thanks in large part to QB Lamar Jackson, who just crushed one of the NFL's all-time rushing records.

With Jackson's 39 rushing yards in Baltimore's 20-10 victory over the Chargers on "Sunday Night Football," he became the fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 5,000 rushing yards, per "SportsCenter."

Jackson doesn't just own the record — destroyed the prior mark, reaching the feat in just 82 games. Former QB Michael Vick previously owned the record by reaching the mark in 104 games.

Although it's an impressive milestone, it isn't surprising considering Jackson rushed for at least 695 yards in his first five seasons and is on pace to make it six straight years with 574 rushing yards through 12 games this season.

Jackson was asked what it means to him following the game.

"It's cool," he said as he walked off the podium.

The 2019 NFL MVP is clearly focused on the bigger picture.

"Getting to the Super Bowl is the goal. We're going to just take it a week at a time. That's all we can do," Jackson told reporters. "We can't worry about being the No. 1 seed or anything like that. ... We just got to keep focused and keep trying to win each game."

As of now, Baltimore is in sole possession of the AFC's No. 1 seed. However, Jackson is right in saying anything can happen any given week.

After the Ravens return from their Week 13 bye, they may no longer be the No. 1 seed, but if Jackson and the rest of his team continue playing like they have, they could certainly own it by season's end, which will only help their aspirations of making it to the Super Bowl.
