Former Baltimore Ravens star linebacker Terrell Suggs was arrested in Arizona late Tuesday night, according to TMZ Sports.

Suggs was booked into a Maricopa County jail on one count of assault and one count of offense against public order. Suggs has since been released, a spokesperson from the jail confirmed with the outlet. The Scottsdale Police Dept said that Suggs’ arrest stemmed from an incident that was reported to authorities back on March 10.

“Suggs made his initial court appearance in front of Superior Court judge just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, where it was learned that Suggs was the alleged instigator in a road rage incident in Scottsdale,” Peter Valencia of Arizona Family 3TV CBS 5 reported.

Suggs, 41, spent 16-of-17 NFL seasons with the Ravens, where he became a seven-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro. In 244 career games, Suggs tallied 139.0 sacks, 200 quarterback hits, 895 tackles (630 solo), 202 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 63 passes defended and 37 forced fumbles. Suggs finished his career eighth on the all-time sacks list. He earned his first and only AP Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2011 after recording a career-high 14.0 sacks and seven forced fumbles.

Suggs has been lauded for his longevity, earning a Pro Bowl nod both during his age-22 season and his age-35 campaign. He won two Super Bowls — one with the Ravens in 2012 and another with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.
