Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison hit in the leg by a stray bullet

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison was hit in the calf with a stray bullet on Sunday night, the team announced on Monday.

Harrison, 23, sustained the injury while attending an event in Cleveland. The Ohio native and Ohio State product had returned to his home state during the Ravens' bye week.

According to the team, Harrison received care at a local hospital and his injury was deemed non-life-threatening. He is expected to return to Baltimore on Monday.

No other details about the incident have been released.

The second-year LB has 22 combined tackles through seven games this season, five of which he started. As ESPN noted, Harrison's play has decreased recently due to veteran Josh Bynes taking on more of the workload. Harrison has been on the field for fewer than 20 defensive snaps over the last three games.

The Ravens return to action in Week 9 and will host the Minnesota Vikings, who just lost a heartbreaker 20-16 to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
