The Baltimore Ravens have promoted Chris Hewitt as their new assistant head coach, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Ravens had been on the lookout for an assistant head coach since Anthony Weaver agreed to become the new defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, replacing Vic Fangio. Weaver served as assistant head coach for the Ravens over the last two years.
Hewitt has been with the Ravens dating back to the 2012 season when he was hired to become their new assistant special teams coach. Hewitt has taken on multiple coaching roles with Baltimore over the past decade, including serving as its pass game coordinator and secondary coach since the 2022 season. He has helped to get the best out of the likes of Kyle Hamilton and Geno Stone.
Rapoport added that Hewitt will continue to serve as pass game coordinator and secondary coach for the Ravens in the upcoming 2024 campaign.
The Ravens are not done yet in filling out their coaching staff. For one, Baltimore is still looking to find a new defensive line coach. Weaver held this position over the past two seasons.
