Ravens named landing spot for All-Pro RB

The Ravens lost RB J.K. Dobbins for the season after he tore his Achilles in Week 1, and although head coach John Harbaugh said he "likes the guys we have," they've been named a top landing spot for an All-Pro running back.

NFL.com analyst Maurice Jones-Drew believes Baltimore should negotiate a trade for Colts RB Jonathan Taylor as trade talks are expected to resume.

"The Ravens have championship aspirations in 2023, and while they routinely boast one of the best rushing attacks league-wide no matter who shares the backfield with Lamar Jackson, I still feel like they need another dynamic player on offense," Jones-Drew writes. "Baltimore would dominate defenses on the ground, and that threat would help open up new OC Todd Monken's passing game."

Baltimore has running backs Gus Edwards and Justice Hill on their roster, and Harbaugh hinted that RB Melvin Gordon could be called up from the practice squad sooner than later.

However, Taylor would bring more upside to the position. The 24-year-old rushed for 861 yards and four touchdowns a season ago and that was while missing six games. In 2021, Taylor led the league in rushing yards (1,811) and rushing touchdowns (18).

Edwards, Hill and Gordon combined for just 1,013 rushing yards and five touchdowns last year.

Of course, the question will be, how much will the Ravens have to give up to get Taylor?

The Colts have already hinted that it will take high compensation to acquire their running back. But with Taylor playing on the final year of his rookie deal, their leverage could be shifting.

Only time will tell how this saga plays out, but BaltimoreĀ is not short of options, which is certainly a good thing.
