The Seattle Seahawks opened up a new era on Wednesday, as they officially hired Mike Macdonald as their next head coach.
The Seahawks interviewed multiple candidates for their head coaching vacancy, including Macdonald. They first met with Macdonald on Monday, which came a day after the Baltimore Ravens crashed out in the AFC title game at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the end, Seattle opted to hire Macdonald for the role.
Marlon Humphrey and Patrick Queen each starred during Macdonald’s two-year run as Ravens defensive coordinator. They each took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday to bid farewell to the newly appointed Seahawks head coach.
Macdonald will be in for quite a test with the Seahawks next season, especially as six out of the team’s 17 regular season contests will come against Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford and Kyler Murray.
Macdonald joins a Seahawks team that finished with a 9-8 record in the regular season this year.
