Ravens Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown wants trade to play left tackle?
Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Orlando Brown has made it clear where he wants to play up front:
It appears he's now doing something about it.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Thursday that Brown's representatives are exploring trade possibilities that would allow him to play left tackle on a full-time basis with a club. Brown, drafted by Baltimore in 2018 to play right tackle, has made Pro Bowl squads in each of the past two years, but Baltimore signed current left tackle Ronnie Stanley to a five-year, $98.75 million extension last October.
Brown, 24, can enter free agency after the 2021 season.
Stanley suffered a fractured and dislocated ankle in Week 8 last November, but he's expected to return for training camp. Earlier this month, ESPN's Jamison Hensley wrote that the Ravens could get at least one first-round draft pick in a trade involving Brown this offseason.
As Hensley added, though, Baltimore is a Super Bowl contender with a Most Valuable Player quarterback who has the goods to guide the Ravens to a division title next season. Keeping Brown at right tackle and having him as a replacement if Stanley once again goes down could be worth the risk of losing a Pro Bowler for nothing in free agency next year.
