The Baltimore Ravens wasted no time in reaching a resolution on Nelson Agholor’s future with the team.

The Ravens announced last week that they signed Agholor to a one-year extension deal. His contract with Baltimore was set to void on Feb. 19, which would have then seen $1.668 million in dead money count for 2024. With the two sides agreeing on a new contract, Agholor will remain in Baltimore for at least one more year.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta did not face much of an issue in signing Agholor to an extension, especially as it was made clear to him that the veteran wideout did not want to leave Baltimore after a mere one season.

"'Nelly' was a guy that we brought in last year," DeCosta said during a press conference at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. "We had studied him for years. I had studied him coming out of USC. I always liked his game, felt he was a valued guy for us. …. The guys that saw him out there every single day know that he had tremendous intangibles and brought a lot to the table.

"For us to talk to him and get that done, I think he's been a lot of different places, understood what it felt like to be a Baltimore Raven, and he wanted to come back. We knew that, and we are excited to have him back."

Agholor made the most out of his first season with the Ravens. He took part in 582 snaps on offense, which ranked third among all wide receivers on the team. He ended up tallying 35 receptions and 381 receiving yards over 17 regular season games played.

DeCosta may not be done yet in making moves out at the wide receiver position, especially as the team has just five wideouts who are under contract for the 2024 campaign.
