Ravens reportedly reached out to Falcons to discuss Julio Jones trade

Atlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot said earlier this week that Atlanta was listening to offers for superstar receiver Julio Jones, and according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, one team that reached out was the Baltimore Ravens.

Glazer stated on Instagram Live that the Ravens were the team to contact Atlanta, though he also said that the trade was unlikely given Jones' contract. However, it does show that Baltimore remains committed to trying to get better weapons for quarterback Lamar Jackson, despite general manager Eric DeCosta recently defending the team's receiving corps.

On Tuesday, Fontenot confirmed that the Falcons were willing to hear offers for Jones, though he made it clear that Atlanta would be open to listening to offers for any player on the team. He said that the Falcons hold Jones "in high regard" but acknowledged that he has to do "what's best for the organization."

Jones current deal could be the obstacle preventing any trades for now, with his current deal creating a $23.05 million cap hit, with $15.3 million fully guaranteed. Though if the Falcons trade Jones after June 1, they could spread that money over two seasons rather than taking the whole hit in one year.
