Ravens should target two-time Super Bowl champion

The Ravens should be putting all of their energy into working on an extension for QB Lamar Jackson. But once Jackson's future is decided, Baltimore should go after a player that already has two rings in his career.

If CB Jonathan Jones hits the open market after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Patriots, the Ravens should target the two-time Super Bowl champion.

Jones "fits the profile of a plug-and-play veteran who won't cost the Ravens much and who provides the versatility they may desire," NFL.com's Nick Shook writes.

It's obvious Baltimore needs to give Jackson more weapons, but the team has had its fair share of injuries to the secondary. Cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Kyle Fuller are also set to become free agents as well.

Jones won't demand a contract like some of the other top free-agent cornerbacks will, making him a potentially perfect fit for the Ravens, especially if they are able to reach a new deal for Jackson.

The 29-year-old is expected to receive a two-year, $24.92 million contract after having a career-high four interceptions, 11 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a touchdown in 2022.

Baltimore hasn't won a Super Bowl since the 2012 season. Maybe adding a veteran like Jones who has experience winning it all will help them get over the hump in 2023.
