Ravens sign Lamar Jackson's cousin to one-year deal

The Ravens are doing almost everything they can to convince QB Lamar Jackson to re-sign with them, and their latest signing seems to be another effort to do so.

Baltimore announced it re-signed CB Trayvon Mullen, Jackson's first cousin, to a one-year deal.

Mullen didn't play a single down for the Ravens this season. He totaled just 16 tackles and one pass defensed in eight games with the Cardinals and one game with the Cowboys in 2022.

Mullen, who is 25, still has upside as a second round-pick from the 2019 NFL Draft, but he's trying to find his footing. He had 114 tackles, three interceptions and 24 passes defensed through the first two seasons of his NFL career but has been less productive in the two years since.

The deal also comes right before Jackson's window to explore his options opens Wednesday afternoon after receiving the non-exclusive franchise tag last week.

Only Jackson knows exactly what he wants, but as Baltimore does its best to mend its relationship with Jackson to keep him a Raven, signing Mullen to another year couldn't hurt.
