The Baltimore Ravens held their first practice of the week on Wednesday to prepare for Sunday’s AFC Championship game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The Ravens have dealt with key injuries on both sides of the ball this season, but could potentially get their star cornerback to suit up after returning to practice.
Baltimore Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey Returned to Practice on Wednesday
After missing the last 2 games due to a calf injury, Marlon Humphrey was seen on the practice field taking reps on Wednesday. Humphrey has only played in 10 games and has dealt with multiple injuries throughout the year, but getting him back in the biggest game of the Ravens season would be a tremendous gain.
Head Coach John Harbaugh is “Hopeful” Humphrey Will Be Available for AFC Championship
After defeating the Houston Texans in the divisional round last Saturday, Head Coach John Harbaugh met with media and talked about Humphrey’s chances of suiting up on Sunday versus the Chiefs.
“I promise you, if Marlon can go, he will. If he can practice, he will. I think you’ll see it as the week goes on based on how much he practices. You’ll probably get a pretty good feel for it. I’m pretty sure if he can be out there, he’ll be out there. So, I’m very hopeful and we’ll have to see what happens.”
Considering Humphrey was seen logging reps for Baltimore’s first practice of the week, Harbaugh is still hopeful that he’ll be available for Sunday’s AFC Championship game. Humphrey will still have 2 more practices to log reps before the Ravens make a ruling on his status.
Linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips Returned to Practice Wednesday After Suffering Shoulder Injury
Del’Shawn Phillips, who suffered a shoulder injury in week 18 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers returned to practice on Wednesday. Phillips plays behind Pro Bowl linebackers Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen in the depth chart, but has appeared in 17 games this season and has been a productive piece when on the field. He has been sidelined since suffering his injury, but will have a chance to suit up versus Kansas City on Sunday if he continues to log practice reps.

Baltimore will hold two more practices to prepare before Kansas City arrives to M&T Bank Stadium. Coverage for the AFC Championship game on Sunday will begin at 3:00 PM Eastern time on CBS.
