Ravens' Tavon Young on pace to return from torn ACL for training camp

Baltimore Ravens nickelback Tavon Young played in only two games last September before he went down with a torn ACL.

According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale explained during a Tuesday call with season-ticket holders that Young is on track to return to football activities by training camp and could be fully healthy even sooner:

Young, a fourth-round selection from the 2016 NFL Draft, didn't play in 2017 because of a torn ACL he suffered in June of that year but appeared in 15 games the following season and recorded an interception, three fumble recoveries, two defensive touchdowns and five pass breakups. However, he missed the entire 2019 campaign with a serious neck injury.

As Hensley noted, Young restructured his contract in November and accepted a $2.85 million reduction in salary for the upcoming season to offer the Ravens needed cap space. According to Over The Cap, he is scheduled to earn $5.845 million in 2022, the final year of the agreement.
