Ravens to return to facility one day early in preparation for Steelers
The NFL is intent on making the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers play on Tuesday despite additional positive COVID-19 tests rolling in daily.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh initially said that players wouldn't be allowed back into the team facility until Monday, but that's not the case anymore. According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Ravens will return to the team practice facility on Sunday night for conditioning and a walkthrough on Monday.
At this point, the Ravens don't have much of a choice considering the NFL will make them compete on Tuesday. They could prepare virtually, but players haven't practiced all week, which could lead to injury if they jump into game action.
If the virus spreads further when the team returns to its facility, the blame should be placed on the league for forcing Tuesday's matchup to go on as scheduled.
The Ravens have placed 22 players on the reserve/COVID list, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram, defensive lineman Calais Campbell and outside linebacker Matthew Judon.
ESPN reported on Sunday morning that at least 11 players and 10 staff members within the Ravens organization have tested positive for COVID-19.
