As we have said all offseason long, the Las Vegas Raiders have many tough decisions to make. They need to figure out their entire draft plan and what they will do with their first pick.

As far as I'm concerned, the Raiders will pick one of three positions at pick No. 13. They will either go with a cornerback, offensive tackle, or a quarterback. All of those are big needs, but none bigger than the most important position on the field - the quarterback, of course.

This draft happens to be full of good talent, up and down the draft for all three of those positions, which is another reason why it's so difficult to gauge what will happen. That, and the fact that there are 12 other picks ahead of them with similar needs.

One reporter, who often has inside information on the Las Vegas Raiders, said what he's hearing is most likely to happen in the first round.

"The whispers are getting louder that the Raiders just might take Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. here (13th overall)," Vic Tafur of The Athletic wrote during a mock draft.

As we have discussed before, Penix will likely be the best quarterback available. After his impressive pro day, it has seemed more and more likely that he will be the pick. Before, for a few months, it seemed like he could be there at pick No. 44. Now, he has risen so high that the Raiders may have to exhaust their first pick on him.

Penix, if they believe he is a guy that can take the franchise to new heights, would be the perfect pick at No. 13.
