With the way things have gone for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason, many believe the route they're taking with the 24th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft is pretty much set in stone.

By allowing Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz leave in free agency, the need for offensive line help is far too great to not select a lineman in the first round when April comes around.

But as long-time football fans know, the Draft is a wild, wild event, where twists and turns await at every pick after months and months of franchises throwing smoke screens through the media.

A recent sighting has Cowboys fans thinking that a big surprise might just happen when their team is on the clock in Draft day: Wide receiver coach Robert Prince was seen at LSU's Pro Day.

Although Prince being in attendance doesn't necessarily mean there's significant  interest on LSU's wide receivers, it is noteworthy mainly because of Brian Thomas, who is expected to be picked around the Cowboys' range. Per Grinding the Mocks, Thomas' expected draft position is 21st. Per the consensus board, Thomas is the 17th best prospect of the draft.

Could it be that the Cowboys go off-script if a scenario arises and Thomas is significantly the better prospect on their board? I wouldn't put it past them as they've been willing to go BPA in previous years.

However, what exactly does that mean for the offensive line? At this point, the need is big enough up front to be legitimately worried about the offense unless a starter is added through a first rounder.

I'm sure we'll break down this dilemma from many angles as the draft gets closer and closer.
