Released Seahawks OT Chad Wheeler charged with three felonies

Earlier on Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks announced that they've released offensive tackle Chad Wheeler following serious and disturbing domestic violence allegations that include the 27-year-old NFL player nearly killing his girlfriend.

Wheeler took to Twitter on Wednesday to explain he's walking away from football and seeking help:

Brady Henderson of ESPN explained that Wheeler reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder and had recently stopped taking his medication. The King County prosecutor's office charged Wheeler with three felonies on Wednesday afternoon:

The NFL will likely suspend Wheeler if he attempts to resume his career at any point down the road.
